Where is Yokohama?

Yokohama city is located south of Tokyo and is more of the major commercial cities in the Kanto region.

Yokohama was one of the few cities that opened up its port for foreign ships and making it one of the base for foreign trades until nowadays.

The opening to foreign trades contribute to Yokohama’s European-styled architectures and townscape.

Why is Yokohama Chosen?

Yokohama has one of the biggest railway stations in Japan with 6 railway companies and 11 railway lines that connect to most major cities in Tokyo.

While the living cost is lower compared to central Tokyo, its convenience of access to central Tokyo makes it popular among white-collars whose companies located in the heart of Tokyo.

Surrounding the railway station are popular department stores that provide you with daily necessities to luxury goods and entertainment.

Walking a little further away from the station, you can find parks along the ocean and enjoy the spacious ocean view which you can rarely find in Tokyo city.

What is Happening in Yokohama?

The Urban Development Bureau of Yokohama is in the progress of a city renovation plan called ”Excite Yokohama 22”. This renovation plan aims to improve Yokohama’s living environment and turn it into an international city.

Notable progress is the construction of condominiums installed with IoT and AI.

Not only do Japanese locals, everyone from the world is looking forward to the development.
